West Reading Churches

New REinspired School Project

Bringing RE to Life

Over the last year a team from St George’s, St Mary Magdalen’s, Tilehurst Methodist Church and Emmanuel Methodist Church have been meeting to set up an REinspired project in West Reading schools beginning with a pilot project at Wilson Primary School in early 2016.

What is REinspired?

“We are a team of Christians from local churches who are passionate about bringing RE sessions to life for children in local schools. All our sessions are rooted in the RE syllabus, are lively and engaging, as well as educational. We use a rich variety of approaches to learning such as art, craft, music, drama, DVD clips & small group discussion to make the sessions accessible to all pupils. Pupils are always told that we are not attempting to change what they believe but help explore a topic that Christians believe.”

What the children say about REinspired …

‘God is epic’ - Year 2 pupil.

What the teachers say …

‘Exactly what it says on the can…’ - Former Head, Hawkedon Primary

What can you do to help the REinspired project in West Reading?

Initial funding has already been secured and following a planning meeting with the school we are really excited about this project. We have already put together a core team of five people from our churches who are wanting to deliver this work. However, to expand the team we are now looking to recruit extra volunteers to support this important project, and REinspired are committed to our support and training. There are a wide variety of ways in which you can contribute to make this project successful. So if you are interested, please drop in to Emmanuel Methodist Church on Wednesday 18th November from 4-6pm to find out more, have a cup of tea, and discover ways in which you can help.
